The Disaster Science Consortium brings multidisciplinary academic, public, and private members together around one premise: preparedness is a shared problem, and DSOC is its nucleus.

Purpose
All five colleges, one focus
The consortium brings together key elements of all five WKU academic colleges to focus on applied research, hazard analysis and problem solving, community-focused disaster support services, and enhanced cross-functional educational opportunities centered on disasters.
Member agreements with non-profits and community entities carry real services: weather forecasting and decision support, event preparedness planning and operations, organizational risk assessment and plan development, and crisis response command and operations resources.
